Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous for the films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her film Piano won her an Oscar. Actresses have an extensive career of involvement in Broadway, Off-Broadway and other initiatives. Since her childhood, she has been passionate about acting. She played Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school play. When she was in the fifth grade following a bout of mumps, she lost her hearing in the left ear. However, she did not allow that to stop her. As a young woman she took classes in drama at college before moving to New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could pursue her ambitions. Hunter was introduced to Beth Henley by chance in a lift. Together, they wrote Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. The first time she appeared in a film was when she moved to Los Angeles. She has since appeared in numerous films and television series and movies in a long career that spans over three decades. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received her the Women in Film Lucy Award.
