Asia Argento is an Italian actor and director of films who came from a large family of both. She's pursued the two professions herself. This part earned her an award from David di Donatello (for the most talented actor) as well as an award from Grolla of Oro. Asia began directing for profession in 1994. The first film she directed was Prospettive. The film she wrote about her father and then Abel/Asia (1998), a film that was awarded a prize in the Rome Film Festival and was each produced between 1996 and 1998. In 1999, Asia was the first to direct a feature film by directing Scarlet Diva (2000), in which she was the leading actress and author for the script. The movie was released worldwide in May 2000. In 2002 Asia appeared in The Red Siren with Jean Marc Barr, and Rob Cohen's Action thrille directed with Vin Diesel. Asia can also be the author of a number of short stories, which have appeared in numerous prestigious magazines
